Jessica Shaw MLA, Member for Swan Hills, and The Ellenbrook Mile invite all Year 1 – 12 students living in Ellenbrook to submit a piece of artwork depicting their own idea of what happiness looks like to The 2019 Ellenbrook Mile Student Art Competition. Artworks are to be in the form of a painting or drawing depicting the student’s own idea and opinion as to what happiness looks like to them. The winning artists from each Prize Category will be awarded a $100 prize and their artwork will be used to promote The Ellenbrook Mile, in turn raising awareness about the importance of maintaining positive Mental Health in our community.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Prize Categories

Junior (Primary School Years 1 – 6) - $100 first prize, $75 second Prize and $50 third prize

Senior (High School Years 7 – 12)   - $100 first prize, $75 second Prize and $50 third prize

Number of Entries – Students are able to submit one artwork produced wholly by that student for inclusion in The 2019 Ellenbrook Mile Student Art Competition.

Medium & Size Requirements – works can be of any size, but must be in the form of a painting or drawing.

Submission of Entries – All artworks must be submitted with the following details attached on the form provided:

  • Student’s full name
  • Student’s age
  • Student’s school and year group
  • Student’s contact details (phone and/or email)

Licence granted - All Entrants who submit artworks retain copyright over said artwork. By entering this competition the Entrant grants Jessica Shaw MLA and The Ellenbrook Mile an irrevocable and non-exclusive licence to exploit the submitted artwork. This does not in any way prevent the Entrant from licensing their work to third parties.

Scope – the licence granted to Jessica Shaw MLA and The Ellenbrook Mile applies throughout Australia, and allows Jessica Shaw MLA and The Ellenbrook Mile to use the artwork in print (greeting cards, newsletters, etc.) and digital publications (digital newsletter, emails, website, social media, etc.), and in any other way they may see fit.

Consideration – The Entrant is not entitled to any royalty payments for Jessica Shaw MLA or The Ellenbrook Mile’s ongoing use of their work or on a per print/use basis.

Own work and indemnity - The Entrant of the work as licensor and their Parent warrants that they own the copyright for the work they submit and have authority to licence that work. Further, the Entrant and their Parent warrants that they have not infringed the copyright of any other person in making their entry. The Entrant’s Parent indemnifies Jessica Shaw MLA and The Ellenbrook Mile against all claims arising from the Entrant’s breach of another person’s copyright. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to obtain any necessary written permissions from individuals who appear in their artworks.

Prizes are to be awarded solely at the discretion of Jessica Shaw MLA. Jessica Shaw MLA will notify the winning Entrant of their successful entry. Jessica Shaw MLA is under no obligation to notify unsuccessful Entrants of the outcome of their entry. Entries open on the 12/10/2019 and close at midnight on the 30/11/2019. Late entries will not be accepted.
